    Good Morning Sabtree !

The first question ... do you have advanced knowledge of shell script, command and prompt syntax and command line environment?

From the Win10 environment, press WIN+R. Enter 'diskmgmt.msc'. Please post screenshot of result. Also please not that the Kali installation iso USB stick will not see the partition if the USB stick is not GPT partitioned  FAT32 with Rufus Jack E/NJ

Then you must stay away from Kali.
    Not a distro for beginners.
This is a pentest-oriented distro with targeted applications and mostly in shell environment with no graphical interface.
In that case you should opt for a distro like Ubuntu.

How did you make your Linux installation USB drive? It must be GPT-partitioned for UEFI computer  FAT32-formatted with the Linux iso using Rufus freeware. Jack E/NJ

Did you use Rufus? That's probably the most reliable tool for making Linux installation isos? You also should probably set and save a BIOS supervisor password. Then re-enter the BIOS menu with the password and disable secure boot. Jack E/NJ

If you can't see your partition.....that's usually because your SATA Mode is not AHCI.

I don't know the proper procedure for switching your computer to AHCI.  If you go in to your BIOS settings, you can check for SATA Mode.  Sometimes Acer uses RAID or Intel Optane instead of AHCI depending on the model.

If @JackE and @MaClane don't know the proper procedure for switching to AHCI, then you can start a new topic  "How do I change my Nitro 5 to AHCI?"

It's very important that you follow the proper procedure switching to AHCI..

If your Nitro 5 is already AHCI then please disregard my post.
    I'm not an Acer employee.
