My Aspire One has started playing a little 3-tone sound. It is a system sound every 2 minutes or so.

For the past hour my Aspire One 722 has been playing a quiet little system sound of 3 notes every 2 or 3 minutes.

It is not playing through the speaker, it is like it is playing from the hard drive.  I have my bluetooth speaker attached through a blue tooth dongle, but the sound is not playing that way, it is coming from the computer itself internally.

 

I ran virus scan, no virus.

I did system restore to an earlier point in time and that didn't help.

 

In fact as Windows was just starting to boot up, the sound played!  The computer was just starting to boot and

it played the sound.  The sound is like 3 notes of a 3 note chord.  Very quiet but persistent and annoying over timel.

 

Does it do this when it overheats?  It is trying to tell me something but what?

Does the computer make these sounds if you go into the BIOS and let it sit on the BIOS screen? If it does, I would recommend you contact Acer support for your region to inquire about setting your unit up for service.
