N17Q8 Chromebook will not turn on - even when plugged in

My N17Q8 will not turn on.  Originally, it would only turn on when plugged in.  Now, it won't turn on even when plugged in.
As soon as I plug in the charger, the light is blue for about two seconds then turns to blinking orange.
Any troubleshooting tips that I can follow would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Sounds like a battery issue. If yours has the battery reset hole under the laptop use a paper clip to press the button inside the hole for 15-30 seconds. Let it sit for another 15-30 minutes and then try turning it back on normally. If you don't have the battery reset hole it means taking it apart enough to disconnect the battery and follow essentially the same process. If that doesn't work it's likely time for a new battery, though a faulty charger in just the right way can sometimes look the same.

    HELP:
I bought 2 notebooks in June 2020 to support my kids' homeschooling. All was fine, we had a landline from our internet provider and ethernet cable on my laptop, modem, and the 2 notebooks worked wireless.
Since the telephone company exchanged our modem into a wireless (the landline will not be fixed in close future) the notebooks find the modem but cant connect: "out of range". I am sitting right next to the modem and it has 100% 4G available.... my cell and my old laptop can connect without any issue.
I called already the support team and powerwashed them, no suggsess.
NOW my question: does it make sence to buy a wifi wireless adapter stick of some kind that could help the notebooks to "get into the range". If yes suggestions what stick would work with this model?

@Karin242 start a new thread for your question. Include the model numbers of the Chromebooks and the model number of the WiFi modem/router. Don't go to the trouble and expense of buying different wireless adapters until we figure out what's going on with the stock one.
