Hi,
I need help to flash my bios. My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5551G -
N834G64Mn, s.n.************************* . The problem I have is black
screen of death. When the power button is pressed, only the button
illuminates and the fan starts, the screen is dark, there is no
indication of the hard disk or whatever. I tried removing the hard
drive and RAM memory and startup - no result. I tried to flash by
downloading it from the site BIOS file - BIOS_Acer_2.14_A_A.zip, I
extracted it and copied it files from the DOS folder - FLASHIT.EXE,
Projchk3.exe, XEWxx214.bat,XEWxx214.FD, in usb flash formatted FAT32.
Then I took out the laptop battery, i removed the power cable, i put
the flash drive in usb port, press and hold the "Fn" and "Esc" buttons,
put the power cable and press the power button, then the fan starts at
max speed and after 5 sec. I release the buttons. I wait 10 minutes but
none effect, the new bios file should be installed and the laptop
itself restart and start working. I also tried renaming the XEWxx214.FD
file on BIOS.fd, but no success. Please tell are my steps correct, am I
missing or missing something, are these the right files or not,
exactly how to perform flash as I think for each model there are slight
differences. Thank you in advance.
