HDMI cable that supports 120 or 144hz (G3-572)

Hello there,

During the holidays I thought I would pick myself up a new gaming monitor (benq zowie xl2340) to complement my helios 300 (G3-572). Unfortunately I've learned that hard way that you can't just use any cable for 144hz. I've also learned that my USB-C port isn't compatible with displayport. So that would mean I need a special HDMI 2.0 or 2.1 cable that would support 120 or 144hz at 1080p. If I'm mistaken and a usbc to dp cable will work then correct me. If not, could one of you be so kind as to link me to a HDMI cable meant for gaming which would support a high refresh rate at 1080p.

What EXACT model of your laptop?

To output 1080p content at 144Hz, you will need either a Dual-Link DVI, a DisplayPort, or an HDMI 1.4 or higher (though some monitors with HDMI 1.4 are limited to 60Hz or 120Hz) cable.

The HDMI high frequency cable support has been hit and miss in my opinion. Some work, others don't, and it seem to be monitor specific as stated above. I have avoided this by using the mini display port on my Predator.

Ranchy its not exactly a cable issue here, its the display capability to support it via hdmi (might not support) if you want a complete list of tested displays that support 144hz over hdmi on the H300 2017/18 check here or join the predator fb group for a complete up to date list (check my signature)
