Hey guys
Part of the reason I finally decided to dump my Acer e5 940m 17 inch for the smaller helios 300 was because I wanted a powerful unit I could edit
Photos and videos on in public as well as play Xbox one level games without compromise.

This seemed like the best option for that. This being said I wanted to ask about fan noise in public. I know this unit will run louder than my old laptop but by how much? I won't be gaming in public but lots of chrome and web work and occasional photo and video editing.

Privately I care less about the fan noise within reason.
Bonus question : will I void my warranty here in Canada by installing a Samsung ssd from my e5 that I bought?

Noise would be audible if you push the laptop to limits - games and multimedia editing software do this. One option is to reduce slightly the performance by disabling turbo mode on CPU by settings its CPU max to 99%.

If you don't hit the Turbo button I think you should be fine. They aren't that loud under normal usage.

Bonus: No, as long as you don't break anything. It's pretty easy, you got this.

MIKEPEPSI if you dont have any warranty seals/stickers you can even disassemble it all and repaste it you wont void your warranty unless you break something while doing it (this assuming you know what youre doing)

And the new H300 2019 can get pretty loud as it was already said above due to the more aggressive fan curve that all the other previous 2017/18 units in order to provide much better cooling if your gaming or some other demanding works but all depends on what others around you can support :) also if your taking it to a coffee you would be on battery so no good for gaming neither demanding works it wont turbo on battery will stay on stock clocks to perform the work you want in public you have to be on AC at all times
