How to flush a bios or disable secure boot in S5 to reload from Window 8 to Window 7

I recently purchase another Aspire S5 ultrabook because I already one and love it.  But due to the almighty MS policies, the new S5 does not have Win7 installed.  I wanted to downgrade the notebook to the legacy bios with Windows 7 and had already purchase a Win7 OEM.

I cannot get it installed properly because of 2 issues.  If in legacy DOS Mode, the machine hang after using for a few minutes.  I suspect it is the bios issue.

I cannot get it to install in UEFI because it cannot boot up because I cannot disable Secure Boot.

Can anyone help?

    Good day

    1. Download the bios from support.acer.com and flash the bios via windows if the machine boots into Windows or via DOS if the machine doesnt boot into Windows.

    2. When you are in the bios, go to the boot menu, press enter on the keyboard, then you will get the options for legacy and UEFI, change it to legacy.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I erased the harddisk and I need to know where to download the DOS program to flash the BIOS also.

I noticed that the BIOS is zip extension and do I need to unzipped it before I flashed because I have tired to unzipped it and it say it is not a zipped file.

I finally understand that I cannot flush my bios to from v2.x to v1.x from the technical support.  So I had to stick with v2.06 BIOS and managed to load the system to Windows 7.

This thing to take not is this:-

DO NOT LOAD << ACER SMART TIMER and INTEL RAPID START TECHNOLOGY >>.

These program can cause those with v2.x BIOS in Windows 7 to freeze up after a few minutes.
