Hello,
I have the Acer an515-52 and was planning to upgrade my ssd. Before I do, do I need to clone/copy windows 10? If I do, how would I come across this?
If you need any more information about the computer, please say so.
thanks

I did the below on my AN515-42.
It came shipped with a HDD and I added a SSD to it.

    1. Login to default windows on HDD
    2. Install Macrium (i have the free home version)
    3. Clone necessary partitions on HDD to SSD
    4. Shut down
    5. Get into BIOS and change boot order to take SSD first
    6. Bootup (this should now show the partition on SSD as boot drive, and Windows partition on HDD as the last drive).

I can't have two ssds in at once. For me I only have a 256gb ssd and I'm planning to upgrade to the 1tb samsung evo 970 ssd

Connect it to USB 3.0 via internal SSD enclosure, if that's an option.
Or else make a back up of existing windows, make a macrium rescue disk, replace the SSD, boot with rescue disk, and apply the image to the new disk. Make sure to have a USB large enough to save the image to it.

I would recommend the first option.
