Hey all,
Just received my Helios 700 today. I was surprised to see the SATA connector was missing (see pic). My model is the I-9 9880HK, 32GB RAM, and 2080 graphics.

I was able to use the cable from my Helios 500 to get up and running on the 7000, but I need to replace it as I plan to sell the 500. Could someone with inside knowledge let me know the part number so I can try buy it somewhere.

Was I incorrect to assume there would be a STATA connection available for installation of a 2.5” drive??

If it is a mistake on Acer’s part, it’s not worth me following up as I purchased the laptop from Acer in the USA and had it shipped to me in Australia via a third party, as for some reason Acer Australia told me they have no plans to bring it out here.

Essentially, the postage to and from the US would cost me around 20-30 x the cost of just fixing it myself.

Anyway, any heads up on the part number would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Mick

Late reply, but I can confirm that my Helios 700 had the SATA cable included. Can't remember if it was pre-installed or came in a bag though. Might want to look through the box again.
Don't know the part number, but I'm sure Acer support can help you there.

    Hey all,
Well, I feel pretty stupid. After ordering and paying for the parts I found that - for some reason - with the Helios 700 the SATA cable is not connected and comes in the box, which I subsequently found upon closer inspection of the box mine came in.

    Cheers

    Hey @Sehnsucht,
Out of interest, can you see my post above yours where I talk about finding the cable in the box (after ordering a new one) and feeling pretty stupid?

I'm not being smart, as a few people have been complaining about not seeing my posts. In fact, when I followed the link on the email notification to your post I could not see mine. Then when I logged in to reply, my earlier post suddenly appeared.

I was accused in another thread of hiding my posts from a certain user (as if that could be done :))

Seem to be some strange things going on with my posts.

Anyway, thanks for replying and you are correct about the cable being in the box

    Cheers
