I have issue of random repetitive clicks on Predator Helios 300 g3-572. Sometime it creates multiple instances of an app, sometimes left and right and left clicks of external mouse as well as touchpad malfunction. This happen many times earlier back in time but a clean install of windows solve the problem. But this time even a clean install doesn't work and issues persist with touchpad/mouse/keyboard. I don't know whether the problem is due to touchpad or keyboard but all I know is that random clicks happens occasionally. After few days the problem becomes permanent on every startup. Now the situation is that on every start, right click and left clicks of touchpad are not working and only I can move cursor with touchpad, and at the same time right click of external mouse don't work but I am able to make left click and can move the cursor with the external mouse. But all the abnormal behavior gone away just by pressing any key on keyboard. Pressing any key on keyboard will solve the problem momentarily and both touchpad and mouse work fine for few minutes. I even updated all the driver, have latest BIOS version installed and tried every troubleshooting. Now the big thing is that I get this problem occasionally even on BIOS screen which is solved by just pressing any key on keyboard. Now I don't know who is the culprit either it is touchpad or keyboard. And also whether it is Hardware issue or software issue, and if it is a hardware issue, then what Hardware, whether touchpad or keyboard or just the upgrading to latest BIOS version 1.22 is responsible for the problem?

Siddharth111 have you reset the bios settings to default after you upgraded your bios also check if your touchpad is on advanced or basic in the bios and try both ways see if the issue persists as you stated a clean install sorted the issue the first time which leads me to believe its a hardware/driver issue somewhere that windows probably updates automatically my advice is after you clean install the OS disable windows updates from updating any drivers/firmware or even permanently if you wish so its can be also as @egydiocoelho suggested a bad cable connection or even a damaged/bent/broken cable contacts in the worst case which would require a compete replacement of the keyboard/touchpad whichever if faulty or both

  • Is your notebook under warranty? Have you tried resetting the battery? Have you tried disconnecting the keyboard and touchpad cable and plugging it in again?
