Do we need to plug in all the time? I googled how we are supposed to use our laptops and it showed mixed response. Some pages say that continuous charging reduces battery life and some say continuous charge-discharge cycle reduces li-ion battery life. Also the manual doesn't describe it quite clearly. It says use ac input whenever possible. So just wanted to confirm.
P.S.-I use predator triton 300

  • Hi,
You can use the laptop while connected to mains with AC adapter as long as you like, it will not damage the battery life, there's a built-in mechanism to protect the battery, once the battery is fully charged it will stop charging the battery.

thanks for the reply but i knew that much that its built-in mechanism will make it stop charging once its fully charged but still it will be almost fully charged...so for that will it be good for the battery?

    Hi,
No problem, yes, using it always connected to mains will not affect the  battery life, I have been using my laptops almost like Desktops and never a battery died in them, every 3 or 6 months I use them on battery only, then I continue to use them connected to AC adapter.

Slayerhoghill definitely a big yes not only you can but you should always use it on AC  here 2 years non stop 24/7 on AC never had a single issue and only have about 9.5/10% battery wear also its advisable you calibrate your battery once every 3 months or so (as it was advised above by @brummyfan2 ) let it completely discharge and recharge to full repeat 3 times and happy gaming :)
