Adding a 2.5" SSD

Me again. So turns out replacing my M.2 didn't go so well. Something with the new drive was just **** my laptop off and it just did not want to run some of my games, like Skyrim, Assassin's Creed 3, etc. So the old one is back in and I am returning my 860 Evo M.2. What Geek Squad DID tell me though, is that I have a slot for a 2.5" SATA SSD. I would need to buy a SATA cable and the drive, which they said these would work. Do these look right? I have an Acer Aspire R5-571TG-7229. Thanks. Also linked my scan results from Crucial.

Hi,
Could you please tell us whether you are trying to replace the existing HDD or you already have a M.2 SSD because if you already have a HDD, you don't need those parts.
On the other hand, if you already have a M.2 SSD and want to increase the storage by adding a 2.5" SSD, yes you need those parts, part number for the cable is correct, you also need a rubber to hold the SSD in place.

Great thanks so so much!! And yes, I’m adding a 2.5” SSD, I already have an M.2 and an empty bay for the 2.5”. @brummyfan2 @egydiocoelho So these should work okay all together?

Thank you again @brummyfan2 😊 I almost want to do it myself because I kinda don’t really trust Geek Squad anymore, but I don’t want to mess it up. Is there a guide out there somewhere for the kind of thing I need to do? I know there’s plenty for replacing an HDD with an SSD but that’s very different steps compared to mine..
