Hello,

I recently got a Dell monitor with the intention of connecting using HDMI (currently have an old monitor connected via VGA)

Sadly and unfortunately, it was not a plug and play experience. The monitor displayed no signal.

I called Dell. I tried to install the monitor driver. The TC-780 did not let me install the driver (the “next” button in the install window of the driver remained grayed out).

I have been reading and folks have guided going to the “playback” tab under “sounds” and there I do not see an HDMI option.

Somehow my computer’s HMDI (physically there at the back of the box) is not active.

I am on Windows 10 64-bit.

Please advise.

Does your TC-780 model have a graphics card in the slot? If so you can't use the MB graphics, it's disabled when the system first detects the discrete video card. Just plug the monitor into another port on the video card instead of to the MB.
