I have an issue with my computer where I have a G230 Headset and a
"Y" adapter to connect it to my AN515-53 Nitro 5 purchased in September with no damage to it ever.
1. I have used multiple places to check my mic, it works. The internal mic. I don't want that, I want the noise cancelling mic on my headset.
2. I have read through every forum about this issue on the site and haven't gotten an answer that works. I have tried every method listed. They don't work for me. My mic just isn't popping up in the sounds menu.
3. It is plugged in thoroughly, I have unplugged it and plugged it back in over and over again.
4. I have not made a single alteration yet to my computer or deleted any software from it. I have also not installed any driver software of any sort. It is on the latest version of Windows 10.
5. The headset mic off switch is not set to mic off.
6. The headset is in tip-top condition
7. The headphones work, but act as though they are the speakers in the sounds menu.
8. The headphones work when the adapter is plugged in and when not.
9. The mic doesn't work with the adapter or by itself.
10. Because of the aforementioned thing with the speakers, I am not 100% sure if it is actually the internal microphone or the headset microphone transition. My friends haven't been online yet, but strangers said they didn't notice a difference when I unplugged the headset mic. This could have to do with the fact that my internal mic is pretty nice.
