I disable windows update service, and adjusted all network connectons to metered. Even so, it receives some small updates each one or two months.
Nothing peaks at the same time...

W10 home really doesn't allow users to close all the doors about updating. I'm using enterprise LTSC in my desktop, and it works.
Since my laptop is only getting small updates (which I still have to see what are they are about), I'm not too bothered. It got update around thrice in last two weeks, but it was inert in this regard for months. But, if somehow it gets a big update and change its version number, I will really use a partition I reserved long ago and start using linux.

Don't worry about huge update since LTSC is a long-term branch. You won't get big upgrades for the next 10 years.
