Random Temperatures Issues with new Acer Predator Helios 300,

Hello everyone!
So I bought a new Acer Predator Helios 300, that came with the following hardware:
CPU - i7-9750H
GPU - GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB VRAM
RAM - 8GB
SSD - 512GB

So im completely new to gaming laptops, and I immediately tested the laptop with Doom 2016. I initially had around 77º average while playing connected to an external monitor through HDMI.
I was always checking the temperatures through Predator Sense app on my phone, and immediately thought it was pushing too much from my CPU. I did some research and found out that enabling V Sync On would help alot with stabilizing the game. ( Note that the game always ran completely fine at 60fps with no stutter whatsoever on Ultra Settings)
I enabled V Sync On and changed the display to only show on the external monitor, before was playing on both, and I noticed a very big decrease. Average temperatures while playing would be 66º, maximum would go to 72º, even if I played for 3 hours straight.

It stayed like this for several days and I immediately overcame my anxiety of burning any component. This situation also aplied to other games like Trackmania 2 with SSAO realtime render On.
Now, 2/3 days ago I bought another SSD with 1TB. I installed and moved my Steam folder to the new SSD. I was only able to test the gameplay the following day and I installed other games aswell.

I tested Doom again and for my surprise the CPU temperatures rose up to 80º immediately. So now I get average 82º, maximum 86º and minimum of 78º while playing Doom. V Sync is still on, display only on external monitor. I thought it had to do with the new SSD speed since the main one has a read speed of 3.2Gb/s and the new one installed has a read speed of 550 Mb/s.
I again transfered the whole Steam page to the main SSD hoping it would solve the problem, but the problem is still there. It helped a little bit to smoothen the framerates of the games but CPU temperature is still the same playing Doom, playing Trackmania 2. I get a constant of 85º as an average. Today I saw it rise up to 90 and shut down Doom immediately.

Does anyone have experienced this before?

These temperatures are well within range and entirely normal, they increased by using V Sync. Acer gaming laptops are designed to run hot and anything below 95 deg with the occasional spike is fine. Your computer has built in temperature protection and would throttle back to avoid damage if there was a heat problem. I recommend using a USB powered cooling pad which are inexpensive on Amazon and make sure your fans are set to max while gaming. 8gb of RAM is a little low for gaming so I'd update to 8gb x 8gb for 16gb total. Enjoy and don't worry.

davidson2354 you can also increase the undervolting further via TS if you feel like to and because yours already comes pre undervolted i dont think your temps are normal at all you shouldnt be going over 80'ish on cpu and 70/75'ish on gpu i would probably send it back for a proper repaste or if you can yourself without voiding your warranty repaste it with kryonaut or similar and follow the advice above upgrade to 16gb ram minimum you will probably have to buy 2x8gb becuse you now have 2x4 if im not mistaken so your current ram would become useless either keep it or sell it to someone

Read this Benchmark. Max operating temperature for this CPU is 100 deg, so 90 deg is within specs as demonstrated by the CPU not throttling back or stuttering. So my apologies but i have to disagree

IMPORTANT NOTE: The High temperatures only have been affecting CPU, not GPU.

So, yesterday I received a 16GB Ram that I ordered and now I have 20GB installed on the system. I moved the steam folder to the new SSD and did some small testings with the games. I couldn't play longer because my work takes most of my time I have available.

Doom appeared to be good again. Temperatures were roaming around the 60's again and occasionally 70's but it didn't reach the 77 degrees as before and needless to say it stayed far away from the 80's. I only tested for 10 mins though. But according to my experience this would be enough to have reached the 80's like before. So I assume it's okay.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided : it goes from 68 ish to sometimes on most demanding scenarios 82 ish. Framerate on this one needs to be optimized since I get more in average 50 fps than 60.

GTA V: it differed alot, but pushes way more from CPU. This one goes to 86, 88 degrees. FPS differs alot too. Since 58 FPS to 25. Which makes me wonder something else aswell.

The system requirements that are advised for the game are not that realistic. I surpass the recommended quite a bit. And still get some performance issues on maximum.

So you would recommend to turn vsync off?

Thanks man for the reply! Is TS the software to undervolt it? Yeah I really feel like this shouldn't be an issue with the specs I have. I understand people telling me it's safe but I assume that this kind of performance would reduce the lifetime of the components right? I try to avoid to use turbo mode because it pushes alot through the fans.

I will test it a couple more tries and if it persists I will send it to the local shop, they can make a free diagnostic to try and detect if there's an issue.

Thanks for your reply man, I appreciate it! But my question is, even if it can endure wouldn't it shorten the lifetime of its components?

I also have this problem with this model, except i already bought it with the 1TB SSD and 16gm of ram..
I tried to undervolt my CPU to -140v
I tried to lock the CPU usage fo -99% to -95%
But neither of this solved my problem..
I use an external monitor also and i get 50-60 cpu temperature while browsing the forums xD
In games like maffia III i get around 87-91 celsius with only Max Fan speed.. in CSGO also around 85 with only Max Fan speed..
I just bought this laptop around 3-4 months and i don't wanna open it for repasing the stuff in it, im not that smart for doing that.
Aniway, good to hear you have solved the ''Heat'' problem what so many users are having and solving with this model.
I'm just hoping that myne is going to dissapear too at one day.
