Hi, I have tried unsuccessfully to boot into windows from my new WD SN750 2TB High-Performance NVMe (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07M9VXSXG?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title).

I followed the following tutorial as seen on any post on this website (https://youtu.be/5p5wFKcJ0bU).

The new drive IS recognized on boot order (I can see it this WD drive, which it is the sole drive in the boot listing.

I have tried as in the video:
- Using a backup from the original boot drive to restore it to my new WD drive via Macrium Reflect Rescue media on boot.
- A clone from the old drive to the new drive (also Macrium Reflect)

This was my setup

And this is the final result of the new drive (after boot into windows 10 fail)
I can see all the partitions on the new drive, which *seem* to match the original drive.

Any ideas as to how to solve this issue?

Sandroid try using easeus partiton master to clone it i have never had any issues with it every cloned system drive even from the stock m.2 sata to a m.2 in a 2.5 sata adapter in a usb dock cloned perfectly to upgrade my ssd to 2tb also check your bios to see if the drive its recognized as windows boot drive if its not there it means the cloning wasnt properly done by the way how did you did it because your model only has one m.2 slot correct same as mine

    Storage Subsystem
    • SATA HDD
     Storage 1 : M.2 2280 for SSD (PCIe/SATA Co-lay)
     Storage 2 : 7/9.5mm co-lay (Support HDD Door)

On mine i just bought a m.2 sata 2.5" enclosure from startech removed my hdd and connected the m.2 adapter then just cloned it normally via easeus partition master after i tried to boot from the m.2 sata adapter via my usb dock booted just fine after i just removed the 128gb stock replaced with my 2tb and reinserted the 1tb hdd and that was it also bare in mind for nvme you need a special adapter converter that would support nvme i dunno about macrium reflect i never used it myself to clone but many had success with it on easeus you just select the source drive and destination drive and hit go thats it and depending on the size/speed of the drives it might take 4h or more on windows you only choose the drives you want to clone and this is all done automatically outside windows on easeus own software UI itself after a restart  also the windows failing to boot on the cloned drive might have something to do with the uefi boot loader file corrupted not properly cloned

Hi Xapim, thanks for the reply
I used a M.2 NVMe usb u enclosure for cloning, which it recognized as an external drive. I do not have a m.2 2.5" sata enclosure. I hope the usb c enclosure is sufficient?

I will try easeus, might as well try all avenues.

Oh and I am using bios version 1.10 (the linked video used a similar 2017 Acer Helios with bios version v1.09)

I cannot seem to edit (no gear symbol) so:

There maybe an issue using EaseUs as there is a recovery partition in the way of my C partition (see images in top post). Can this software expand my C partition even with the recovery partition being to the right of it? I am cloning from a 256gb drive to 2tb and I don't want to have to create two lettered partitions on a single drive.

    Update:
You now have to pay $40 to clone even on trial version using EaseUs.

Yes the clone feature it's only available on full version but it's a great software we'll worth it and your USB adapter it's just fine as long as its recognized you're good to go

Hi, thanks Xapim for your time.

I managed to get it get it all up and running (so far so good) without needing to reinstall or any other partition program (bar MiniTool Partition Wizard).

The thing that saved me (like years ago) was windows system image. Was my second last resort (bar fresh install).

For anyone else this is what I did:
    - I made a windows system image with only the C drive in (disconnected D Drive). Make sure your extra drive is NOT one of you system drives (eg D drive for my secondary data drive).

    -  Restore it via the interface provided by a windows  recovery/ install usb drive (see windows website)

    - I launched it and it failed to repair it.

    - I relaunched the bios when I rebooted and made sure it was at the top of the boot order and saved.

    - Relaunched it, all good. I expanded the C drive via MiniTool Partition Wizard (didn't want to go near EaseUs).

    - Reconnected my D drive, and it is now lightning fast.

    Here is before (default drive)

And this is the new WD black NVMe M.2 drive:
