Hello ,
I have bought a brand new acer predatoe helios 300 .. since the beginning the screen was flickering , sometimes pink screen with lines in it until it shut down to black .. i sent it back to the seller , they eventually changed the screen and said their is no problem with the hardware
The new screen is flickering again same problem but less.
Is it a vga problem and should be replaced?
Would this problem escalate ? And shut down the screen eventually?
Is the vga bad or dying ?
Would it be solved with an update ?
Thank you

  • Hi,
Could you please post the full model name, like PH317-xxx, also post the driver version for your display graphics, go to Device manager, expand Display adapters, right click the graphics card, select properties, go to Driver tab and post the snip.

  • Hi,
Go to Acer support site and download VGA driver for NVIDIA (388.73), then go to device manager and uninstall current Nvidia driver, install the downloaded driver, it's always better to use the drivers provided by Acer because these drivers are modified to compliment other hardware in your laptop.

Seems like GPU hardware issue. Better get it checked at Acer Service Center if still under warranty.

Since it could be a hardware issue, we suggest you contact Acer support in your region for further assistance.

My Screen has  started doing this as well.  Nice to know that  Acer is denying there is an obvious issue instead of taking responsibility for it and helping customers.  If it fails on me, I'll likely never buy an Acer again.  Thanks Acer. You Earned it.
