New Predator Helios 300 - do I need to "activate warranty"?

So I just got a new Helios 300 today for Black Friday. I haven't yet powered on the laptop, but I found the serial number on the box and registered it on the Acer site, at "Register your product". While browsing through that page, I came across a tab called "Warranty Information", and saw it had a link that said "Warranty Activation - Activate your Acer Advantage warranty policy.", screenshot attached at the end of the post.

I've only had a Mac before this, and with Macs, you sign in with your AppleID, and it automatically registers your product online, so I'm not sure what to do for the Helios 300. Do I need to go to that link and "activate warranty" separately here?

As far to my knowledge, there is nothing like to activate warranty. Acer manufacturer provides SMW like 1yr or 2yr or 3yr.....etc based on the type of product. This warranty is calculated from date of purchase. If you contact Acer Technical support in future, they will be asking the date of purchase and your product warranty & support will be calculated from Date of Purchase. 

If you find time, you can contact Acer Technical Support team in your region https://www.acer.com/worldwide/ and just have the product registered under your name & address. Also you can have the DOP updated in Acer records. By this, you can confirm the warranty term for your product.
