Power/Charging Issues Spin513-51-30EU

My Spin513-51-30EU which i have used for 2years now suddenly started having screen issues and I abandoned it for 2weeks. 

And when i pick it up to replace the screen, i realise i can’t power it on. It keeps turning on and turning off on its own. Even after replacing the screen, i still face this issue. 

Now once the laptop is plugged it, it powers up automatically and turns off after a while. It also doesn’t charge, sometimes the charging light shows, other times it doesn’t. 

Am really tired; have tried battery reset and all. Please how do i fix this?

Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the lithium battery? Have you checked if this button is on?

Yes dear but it didn’t much of a difference.

Can you check battery status with hwinfo64?

Can you send a screenshot of battery status? Does the notebook turn on automatically only when you plug in the power adapter?

The system was unable to stay on long enough to check with hwinfo64 so i tried checking with a new battery and charger but still the same. Now the system is not charging at all. 

It powers on automatically when plugged in to AC but doesn’t stay on.

Can you check for any power interrupt buttons similar to this on the other side of the motherboard?

The only one i saw is the battery reset button close to the power on point

Try placing some layers of electrical tape to better press this button:

I put small paper in the power interruption button close to the mother battery and the battery charges now. 

Leaving me with automatic turn on and off by the system.

And even though it’s fully charged, i still have to plug in to Ac for it to power up automatically.

Try putting a few more layers of electrical tape or paper over it, and then try resetting the lition battery.

I did but no change. Even tried factory reset but seems it was interrupted because now I can’t get past the Acer logo page now. 

Am frustrated 🤦🏽‍♀️

1) Does the battery recharge normally?

2) Does the notebook still automatically turn on and off after some time of use?

3) Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting ssd?

I refer to ssd m2 2280. Have you tried disconnecting it and reconnecting it again? I would like to know too, if you record a problem video and post it on youtube?

Can you get into the BIOS? It might just be corrupted battery info in the Windows environment. If so the symptom would be caused by it thinking the battery was too low even when fully charged, causing a drop into sleep mode. If plugging in causes you to go directly into Windows without a normal POST (Power On Self Test) then it's likely waking from sleep, looking at the battery status, then going to sleep again. If that's the case do a hard power off by pressing and holding the power button for 30 seconds or so. Once it's fully powered off turn it on and go directly to the BIOS screen (F2 over and over until it's recognized). Leave it sit in BIOS for long enough to prove the problem doesn't happen there. That tells us it's in Windows and not hardware. Report back...

Hi, 
So i had almost abandoned the laptop out of frustration after removing the lithium battery as advised but no change. 

Recently the system started working fine, noticed it discharges even while shutdown so i use command (windows+R) to turn it off after use and the noticed discharge was minimal. 

But after working fine for 4 days, the problem resumed. I did a battery reset and left it for a day. Plugged it to power and it powered up automatically displaying the BIOS screen, left it for about 40mins and it didn’t turn off until i powered it on. Currently it’s working fine but am afraid to continue usage as I don’t know when it will start on/off again. 

Qxn:
1) Is it okay to continue using the laptop without a lithium battery. 

2.) Is it safe to use command to shutdown and how do i ensure proper power shutdown?

3.) Do you think this is a case of corrupt battery setting and how do i correct it if this is the case?

Can you test the laptop with another battery or another adapter?
