My charger just made a popping sound. Should I keep it charging when playing games? Helios 300

Acer Predator Helios 300 RTX 2060 - I've been playing battlefield and it takes like 90% of my CPU/GPU everything runs fine, I shutdown few hours ago and just launched my laptop again. But this time Battlefield starts lagging like crazy, and when I plug the charger in it just made a loud popping noise and stopped charging... Now it doesn't charge at all anymore, the noise came from my charger. I have only had laptop this for a week now.

Looks like your charger popped. Since its less than a week, based on your region and policies, try getting a replacement. Or get a new charger. a charger that doesn't charge is no good.
Also make sure it is the charger that went kaput... easily verifiable by connecting a replacement charger and checking if it charges.

Are there any alternatives to the PH317-53 charger? I don't wanna be paying another £100 for a charger...

test with a multimeter the output of the popped charger. if 19V, then charger is good. else buy a new charger.

It doesn't charge at all. So I can't test it.

Test with a replacement charger to see if laptop charges well to isolate problem to charger only.

I've ordered a replacement charger. I know for a fact it's the charger though because I heard the charger for sure.
