Hi, I recently purchased Acer Helios 300 2019 Model.
I'm enjoying the awesome performance of this machine so far.
First thing that's bothering me most is weird display brightness nothing looks white at all in this is screen is the drawback of this model ? or is there any fix to this ?
Second some times i see a shutter / frame drops / legginess while playing games and CPU goes up to 90 degrees. If your are playing games at high settings for which GPU is capable of still CPU is staying in 80 + to 90 degrees. Is it bad ? or common ?

Computer screen is too dark at full brightness

    1. Uninstall and reinstall the display driver
    2. Disable adaptive brightness
    3. Replace the LCD Inverter
    4. Roll back the display driver
    5. Update the BIOS
    6. Perform a hard reset
    7. Check the display before Windows opens
In some situations your CPU may slow down while you are playing a game. This can be caused by overheating, or it can be caused by attempts to conserve battery power. Sudden slowdowns – where the game is running fine and then the frame rate drops quite suddenly – are sometimes caused by these CPU slowdowns.

VinayS  yes its bad you should send it back asap for a repaste (or do it yourself with kryonaut or similar if you dont have to break any seals that would void warranty on disassembling it) the gpu shouldnt go over 70 and the cpu 80 its pre undervolted on stock

Well I have checked few youtube videos where they did the all kinds of stress test on CPU and GPU demanding games and benchmarks most of the result are showing some where between 80 to 90 degrees.
And to send back for changing thermal paste... I purchased the laptop a week ago ? do you think  that's the problem here ? I mean its brand new out of the box product, not a used product to say it needs a thermal paste change.

VinayS as i previously said the laptop caomes pre undervolvet on stock gpu shouldnt exceed in any way 70'ish and cpu 80 max now if you dont wnat to send it back to get it properly repasted its up to you you can do it yourself but you would probably void your warranty and you have been watching the wrong benchmarks you have a bad thermal paste application on your unit theres nothing that can be done apart from repasting it properly with a good thermal paste like kryonaut or similar all laptops are mass produced and the stock thermal paste its bad as it is and if not properly applied it gets even worse so whoever applied it did a bad job this sometimes happens in mass production devices youre not the only one

I contacted Acer Technical Team, they are saying 80 to 90 is common for this model, it will go up to 95, when it reaches beyond 95 degrees then it is considered as overheating for these models.
I can do the repaste myself thing is its just a week old and if i do it myself i will lose the warranty.

VinayS its not normal whoever told you that is completely wrong especially because they come pre undervolted by factory above 80 (and its pushing it) its bad that whats they all say especially in India to not do it and leave the users with thermal throttling and for them to get away with it and bare in mind that the warranty support in India its provided by 3rd party sub contracted repair centers not acer themselves so basically they will tell and do you what they want all the time dont let them get away with it demand a proper repaste no matter what but you do whatever you think its better for you i left my advice anyway
