My Aspire 3 laptop just froze and when I restart it. On booting it displayed a 'No Booting Device' error message and I noticed a clicking sound made assumably by the optical harddrive. On system bios the hhd is not detected. Is there any quick fix to this problem, as the work files I was working on are due today?

a clicking HDD and no presence on BIOS is a really bad sign, i think it's dead or has a severe issue.
i suspect you would not be able to recover your files so easily.

if you have a repair computer shop near you, i strongly suggest you to contact them.

  • It would be interesting if you tried to connect the hard drive to another computer to make sure hd is recognized.
