Good. My best guess is that you need to replace the video ribbon cable as it often develops conductor trace breaks in the hinge area from wear and tear of opening and closing the lid too much. Google "d257" "video cable" for vendors near you. Replacement cables are very cheap. Jack E/NJ

Do you see the white line in the BIOS menu? Jack E/NJ

Do you have a TV or external monitor with a vga port? Does it show the same white line on the TV or external monitor? Jack E/NJ

You are great, thanks a lot !
    I have found this:

Moreover, I would like to buy this SSD:

Is it good for Acer Aspire One d257 ?

Yes, those should be OK. You should get an SSD with the same or larger capacity than the HDD to make it easier to migrate & clone the HDD using a freeware tool like MiniTool partition wizard and an SSD-to-USB adapter cable.  https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-sata-to-usb.html  The SSD may be slightly thinner than the HDD so you may want to consider using antistatic foam to immobilize and protect it inside the case instead of using the metal bracket. That's what I do instead of the bracket. Jack E/NJ

Thank you very much for your help.
In this video it seems unnecessary metal bracket and antistatic foam:

You have to wait to see how it's actually attached inside your own laptop. The same model numbers sometimes have slightly different configurations. You should be fine. Good luck. Jack E/NJ

Sorry. The d257 was once a very popular machine and many used are still available on line like ebay at prices less than a new screen ~$40. Jack E/NJ
