I have an Acer V3-571G with an annoying problem.  It doesn't start up first time.  When switched on it gets to the revolving dots then stops.  If switched off and on again it then starts normally - after which it runs normally.  I have checked the hard drive and no faults are found.  The laptop is running Windows 10 - 1903 with the latest updates. I would be grateful for any advice.

Problem solved by unchecking the fast boot option in control panel.

    Good Morning malcolmw !

    Have you reset the battery?
Have you tried reinstalling the factory OEM system?

Have reset the battery and set the BIOS to factory default.  I do not want to return the laptop to factory status as this will mean returning to Windows 7 and the loss of all my applications. There must be a way of solving this without such a drastic step.
