Help My Acer Aspire A315-41 Won't turn ON if i press power button

a few weeks ago I bought an Acer a315-41 laptop, then a few days later I felt something was wrong with this laptop when I installed the charger, I heard the beep twice and sometimes once

problems began to emerge

when I turn off the laptop

then turned it on with the power button there was no response at all until I pressed other keyboard keys like arrow keys or letters, I never took apart the laptop but only updated Windows 1903, then a few days later the laptop could not turn on even though I had pressed all the buttons on the keyboard, I've tried to install the charger only the charger indikator light is on, I also tried to reset the battery through a small hole and finally the laptop turned on when I did the same thing which was to press the power button first then another keyboard button

please help me

Hi

as you mentioned that you could see the charger indication while the charger is plugged in. Could you tell us if you see any sort of display or you feel if the device is turning on when you press the power button. If No, i would suggest you to try pressing F2 during boot and let us know if you see any display.

When you press some keys and at the same time press the power button, does the laptop stay on? If so, it is a keyboard problem.

Try disconnecting su800 and then plugging ssd nvme into the pcie only port.

Hi, Good Morning! Sorry to hear about your issue. Kindly try the below steps and check.

Power Drain
**********

1)Unplug the AC power adapter.

2)Press and hold the Power button down until the unit goes off.

3)Search for a pinhole that has a battery symbol next to it on the backside of your laptop, insert a small paperclip in the battery reset pinhole, press and hold it down for 25 seconds. Then release the paperclip and try to turn on the unit and check.

Also try to do BIOS defaults and post your results.

RESET BIOS

1.Turn off the unit. When the unit is off completely, press the power to turn on the unit.

2.Immediately keep on tapping the F2 to enter the IOS.

3.In the BIOS, press F9 to reset the BIOS to setup defaults.

4.At the confirmation screen, press Enter for Yes to load the default configuration.

5. Press F10 to save your changes, and restart the system. Select Yes and press ENTER to confirm.

Sorry if i reply your comment to long,But Your Solution didn't work,even i try to update the bios,The Power Button Still the same,But I think It's not the power button that broken,when the laptop is turn on and then i press it down the power goes off,that mean the power button is not the case,and im still try to think about it.

It would be interesting for you to enter the bios version. However, it is important to note that other models like the a515-51 had this same problem and was some keyboard defect.

It was short circuit,the keyboard detect the power button is pessing down,thats why it's shutdown after 10 or 5 Seconds,now it's fixed by replacing the keyboard.
To make sure if the keyboard was the main problem try to keep pressing every 0.5 second any button when it's booting in to windows and then release it if it's shutdown down that mean your keyboard was short circuit, but some time it's not shutting down

I have the exact problem that you described. Pressing power button while pressing enter button turns the laptop on but after releasing it the laptop switched off. Can you tell what causing the short cut problem happening, and is it possible to fix it without replacing the keyboard. I went to youtube and one guy said that it was caused by the keyboard ribbon being loose. Any idea if thats true?

I have the same problem with what Roby32 posted, I have Acer A315-41, after updating Windows 10, the laptop won't turn when you press power switch but when you any key in the keyboard and press the power on button it will turn but when you release the key in the keyboard your pressing it will suddenly shutdown, I tried many suggestions in the Internet e.g.: remove the power battery ang press the power button, remove the CMOS battery, press the mini switch in the motherboard, set the bios to factory default but all these things doesn't work, pls. help.

i have an acer a314-32 p2ns and it worked fine for the next few months of productivity. until it didnt turn on i fixed it by holding power button for 1 minute and it did gladly turn on. i noticed when i was playing games my function keys and the esc key werent working i thought this wasnt a big deal but it is. the a and tab button got affected. until i turned off my laptop hoping it will be the solution but it didnt. it made it worse by affecting the power button. now it doesnt turn on. i tried. 1. resetting battery and holding down power button for 1 minute nothing. tried resetting cmos battery nothing. tried shorting the pins of the keyboard hoping it would turn on but it didnt. please help

I have the same issue. I was playing game and suddenly the laptop went to sleep. The power button did nothing so I pressed any other button and it booted up. So as of now I'm using a toothpick to keep the nitrosense button down as its the most useless key on the keyboard. From what I've noticed everykey is works on keyboard(even the power key if any other key is pressed down) but something is continuously ghost pressing the power key(might be the short in keyboard as discussed above). I'm able to do everything on my laptop normally, even playing games every day but the only issue is that i have use a toothpick because acer did an awesome job

do your try to replace your charger with a new one. Similar problem happens to me. Try that, i hope it helps. My current charger name is Chicony A11-065N1A.
