Or at least I think it doesn't. The laptop just straight up shuts off when I play ff14(max), Blade and Soul, Civ6(on higher graphics) and others. Temps during these games don't go higher than 80c, average is usually around 65-75c on these games. The only game that makes temps go 80c or above is BF4 on ultra.
Laptop is the PH315-51, CPU- i7 8750h, GPU- gtx 1060.

The only thing(that I know of) that I haven't tried up to this point is doing a factory restore. I did do a partial restore(the one where you keep files), and that didn't work I don't think i need to factory reset because I believe the problem is hardware related, but I could be wrong(hopefully I am).

Yes I do undervolt through throttle stop and I previously had the gpu overclocked on msi afterburner(got deleted from the partial restore and I'm too lazy to go through the process of setting it back up).

I'm honestly at the end of my wits here. I'm very close to buying a new laptop, or building a desktop.

    Hi!!

    @Ren340

    Were you able to play these games earlier fine in this same laptop? Are you experiencing this shutdown issue recently in your computer & was there any hardware or software changes made in the unit?

    Ren340 if i were you i would backup everything u need and try a stock recovery clean install to rule out any software issues if after this the issues remain i would point to hardware issues also do you have any bsod that you can see what is exactly causing the issues

    Sorry for the late reply. The games I've listed worked fine before this problem started, and this laptop is only a year old now. The only hardware change was adding a 1TB HDD.

    That's my last resort option right now, I'm going to wait until after I move to do so. There's no blue screen or error message of any sort; it just completely shuts off.
