PLEASE HELP!! Why doesn't my emachine w3611 preinstalled windows vista product key work any longer?

Why doesn't my emachine w3611 preinstalled windows vista product key work any longer? It says its to long. I thought I typed it in wrong so I used the Auto detect and its showing the same product key that I put in. I went to the emachine website for answers but because my PC is older  and the product key isn't recognized . They wont give me support and said to ask here. I also don't have my disks any longer and I don't even know which ones I need in order to do a clean install. Do I have to pay for another product key because my computer is older and no longer in warranty??  I am even willing to buy a recovery disk or pay for a download but I don't even know where to go to do this. Please any help would be appreciated. ( I am trying to change the hard drive in it and want to be prepared with all that I need to do this) Thnx!

Ok, first, yes. You can purchace the recovery disks from store.emachines.com. Just have the serial number of the computer handy. If they do not have them on file, dont panic. Call 1-800-910-2237 and see if they are still in the system. They can direct you where you need to go. With the recovery disks, you do NOT need the product key.
