I trying to run a piece of software which requires OpenGL 4.6. When I use the most recent driver available for my laptop from the Acer download site, the highest extension that OpenGL Extension Viewer displays for my Nvidia GTX 1050 is only OpenGL 4.5.

When I download and install the latest drivers (both clean install and upgrade), and then run the OpenGL Extension Viewer, it no longer detects the nVidia adapter and instead shows me the extensions for the Intel GPU (which won't run the application either).

My question is, how do you get the display adapter selection and OpenGL 4.6 to work correctly with an updated GPU driver?

Are you downloading the latest drivers directly from the Nvidia site? If not go here, download and install
