Helo.
Can anyone help me?
How to safely update the BIOS on an Aspire A515-52G (NX.H55EP.001) laptop?

Sorry for my English. I don't speak English very well.

    Hi,
Could you please tell us why you want to update BIOS, don't update BIOS unnecessarily, newer BIOS may be worse than the current one, anyway which version you have at the moment?
This is the proper method to update BIOS but can not guarantee that it won't brick your laptop.
1.Download the zip file from Acer Support site.
2.Extract the zip file to a safe location( I select Desktop).
3.Make sure the battery is fully charged(100%)
4.Remove any peripherals connected to the laptop, USB drives, Printers etc.
5.Close all programs, uninstall AV programs, close any programs running in the background.
6.Choose a time when others not using their PC/Laptops in your household.
7.Make sure there won't be any power cuts in your area(this is not in your control)
8.Make sure you always connected to AC adapter during the period of BIOS update.
9.Open the extracted folder, right click the .exe file and select Run as Admin.
Do not touch any keys or switch off laptop during the update, I would suggest you to walk away from the laptop.

No, I never had problem with Windows utility, normally, I do the update one at a time leaving some time in between the updates, I don't do them all at once, in your case, 1.09-> 1.12-> 1.14, but other members have stated that it's not necessary to do update in steps and can update to the latest version straight away.

    Welcome.
In the photo I have attached ver. BIOS.

I want to update the BIOS because I'm going to add an additional SSD disk and additional RAM.

Yes, you can update to latest BIOS but take all  the precautions mentioned and you must realise that BIOS update is different from updating drivers, so carry on with care.

I have always updated the BIOS directly in the BIOS menu, not through the application in Windows.

Have you ever updated the bios on an Acer laptop through this Windows application?

Yes, I always used Windows utility to update BIOS, I haven't used a USB disk or BIOS menu to update BIOS.

Have you had no problem updating the BIOS?
The whole process went without a problem?

Can you install the latest BIOS version and skip some intermediate versions?

brummyfan2 thank you for your help.
The entire BIOS update lasted 45 seconds!
I skipped some intermediate versions and everything is OK.

Well done 👏 I am glad it worked out without any problems, I normally don't encourage members to update BIOS due to many incidents of bricking  :)

All I did was turn off the web browser and antivirus program.
    It went like a storm!
