Good day guys,

So today I bought a new SSD card for my Acer Aspire V15 Black Edition G791.

Now I need to get my Windows 10 (no other files) somehow on my external Hard disk to boot the computer after I plugged in my new SSD card.

How can I do this?

Thanks :))

if you just need an installation media, use an USB flash drive, instead of an HDD; it will be faster.
here a quick video with instruction on how to do it
    https://uk.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/38145/~/windows-10%3A-create-a-usb-recovery-drive-using-acer-care-center

once you created the recovery drive, reboot your laptop, press F2 key at boot and enter BIOS; in BIOS enable F12 key Boot menu and then press F10 key to exit and save.

Put your USB flash drive on your laptop, reboot it and press F12 at boot, this will let the Boot menu appear, then just select the USB flash drive and follow the instruction to install windows.

Thanks for your fast reply @IronFly

So I can't use my external Hard drive as it has stuff on it and I can't delete it.

Can I just use an USB Stick (128 GB) ? Do I have to pre install anything or can I just follow the video instruction to transfer my windows Backup on it?

    Thanks

Alright - Everything is fine now. It worked and my SSD is now running Windows.

But now I have the slight issue that I'm running on Windows 8. If I visit the Microsoft website for an Windows 10 update I need to fill in a Windows key which I don't have as I installed it automatically previously.

Any Idea how I can upgrade my Windows back to Windows 10 @IronFly & Community?

I think I got it. Just need to log in with my Microsoft Account and download the file. Thanks anyway! :))

Everything is running perfect now. I feel so stupid not having an SSD installed before as I see now how incredible fast it boots. Takes a few seconds and it's ready to go.

On Monday I will install 2x 8GB RAM and that should last for a while.

    Thanks for the help!
