Acer predator PH317-52. Hey guys recently I formatted my ssd and during the format my pc shut down. Now when I power on I get ”no boot options available”. It will boot to bios but everything is grey and I can’t change anything, under boot options there is nothing. I can’t install windows from USB.
any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Seems like you have both master and user password set - and the password you are using is the user password.
User password allows your to "see" bios and master password allows you to "see and edit" bios.

How did you format the SSD? Was it the drive on which you had your windows on? Does your laptop have another disk in it with some OS on it?

I formatted using CMD prompt thinking I could just reinstall windows and be good to go but now I can’t boot from USB.

This doesn't seem right - whatever be the mode, if you booted into windows or any OS, they would not let you format the partition containing the OS.

Make a USB bootable windows from microsoft site and install windows again. Make sure your USB is properly formatted for secure boot option - by default secure boot would be on, and non secure boot enabled drives would not be recognized as bootable devices.

No, all bios options were available before I formatted. I bought a new SSD thinking that maybe the old one has failed but I installed it and still having the same problem.

Weird... changing disk or formatting disk shouldn't affect BIOS options availability.

  • Have you tried creating a password in setsupervisorpassword? Was there any password for hdd? I would also like to understand why your notebook has shut down in the ssd formatting process.
