Hello - I had to replace the hard drive in our laptop this weekend and since I had to open the case decided to upgrade from the 8 gb installed to 16 GB. When I attempted to boot it back up the display will not come on, the power button shows the computer is running and I can hear the HDD spin up but no display at all. I put the original memory back in the computer and it works fine, I tried one stick of the ram from each one by one in each slot and the same problem. Seems unlikely that both are bad but has anyone else had this issue? When I had looked at the cost I figured pairing a new set of Ram was better than matching the existing.

Original Ram: Kingston 8 GB 2Rx8 PC3L-12800S-11-13-F3 KN8GB07225

Replacement: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory Model CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10
