I have a Acer Predator Gaming Monitor with Tobii 27" XB271HU Tbmiprz 2560 x 1440 144Hz Refresh Rate NVIDIA G-SYNC. I got it from Amazon. But I have an odd bug. It is hard to reproduce. The only way to create the problem or solve the problem is - Turn it off then turn it on. It only happens about 1 out of 20 times.
I have tried using different ports on my video card. My card has more then one DP port. I have also tried using a different DP cable. I have also tried other monitors. So I am sure that the problem is following the Predator monitor.
The problem is that 3 or 4 columns of pixels are placed in the wrong place. They are always removed from the center of the screen and placed on side. Sometimes the left and sometimes the right side. I captured a video to show the defect. https://drive.google.com/file/d/135asLAcAclRrEGFMPOneQJvTVS_pcD1x/view?usp=sharing
Most of the time the monitor works fine. But the defect is annoying. I am concerned that it may get worse.
Should I try to return it while it is still under warranty? Is there anything else I should try? The problem has existed since day one. I called Acer about it months ago. But I never pushed for a return. I wanted to do more testing. I wanted to be sure it was the monitor. I can solve the bug by just turning it off and back on. But I am concerened that some day this will not solve it. Will this get worse over time?
