in very simple terms, how can I transfer from my TC 780's SSD to 3TB hard drive.

I had to have a factory reset. I use this computer for Native Instruments / Ableton music production use. Their bundled program is 500GB. before the restart all was contained on my 3TB internal HD (with drivers etc located on the C drive).Since the restart, I cant locate through "My PC" the 3TB HD. I've looked at disk Management but I'm unsure what to do as I don't have a great deal of tech knowledge.
How do I simply format and transfer the downloads that are now to max on my C drive to my £TB HD?

Hoping you can help, best wishes, NSL1975

The 3TB drive is showing in Disk Management as unallocated, which means there is no partition information on it. In order to have it show up you need to do the 'New Simple Volume' as suggested by the Disk Management program. You might also need to format it (make sure you do a quick format if it's needed). Once it is showing up in Windows Explorer (likely E if that flash drive isn't installed, else F) you can run any of several undelete programs to recover most of your files. It's not likely to recover enough to get the software back running, but you might recover a fair amount of your data. Most likely you'll have to reinstall the software.

    Good Morning NSL1975 !

    For better understanding...
You have factory reset your computer and after that the 3Tb HDD is no longer recognized, correct?

After reset, updated the drivers of the internal controllers?

    Hi MaClane!
it was PC world who did the factory reset. My mouse dongle went doolally. The 3TB drive is there, but is in “allocated”.
On “This PC” it isn’t listed either.

Apologies for my naivety. Do I need to enter BIOS and “link” the 3TB HD to start up or similar? Or is it an option in the pic below?

Were there files on this 3TB HDD?
When you point to "unallocated" the partition system has usually been damaged or removed.
In that case the data became eligible and would have to format and create a new partition table.

I had Several hundred GB of Native Instruments software on there, as the suite I’m running (with Ableton 10) is well in excess of 400GB. I was aware that I’d have to reinstall, but can’t find a path “to” that 3TB HD now.

The disk is there, but do I follow what it says in the box in this pic or do I need to access it in a different way?

As I said earlier, I’m really not great with this side of computers and any help is greatly appreciated.

From the information there is no more file on the HDD since the unallocated space is an empty base without paging.

Either your HDD has been reset or is misidentified.

In this case, I suggest you remove and plug in another device to make sure it is accessible.

The native instruments drive I’m downloading from is recognised, as is any USB I’ve used... and a 1TB expansion drive...

but nothing seems to come up in the “This PC” section
