Open Device Manager. Do you see any red or yellow warnings? Jack E/NJ

Left click Windows start icon. Click 'settings'. Click 'network & internet'. Is the WiFi switched 'on'? Jack E/NJ

No, and moving the slider to On does not make any difference. There is a drop down list below that says: Turn wifi back on and the options are Manually, in 1 hour, in 4 hours or in 1 day.  Nothing is actually switching the wifi on

It’s looks like it’s doing something then says WiFi is switched off. Pressing Function and F3 doesn’t switch it on ... nothing is switching WiFi on

Did this issue just happen suddenly and unexpectedly for no apparent reason after turning the machine on? Jack E/NJ

It is new to me, I’ve only just received it. It is reconditioned from laptops direct.  They have supposedly checked the WiFi before sending it out to me.
