I'm not sure what the new battery support is but many users have had battery charging/discharging problems and I hope this is a fix for some of these problems. The BIOS update isn't just your model, there seems to be a BIOS update for nearly every model

Sorry for the late answer, I just updated and yes, I had some trouble. Showed a few blue screen, restarted the laptop and it turned off quickly, after a few attempts, it showed another blue screen! it self-reseted and showed the "Automatic Repair" screen (stuck, had to reset).
After that, I entered the BIOS (f2 spam clicking) and just hit the F9 key to reset defaults, after that it booted normally, finished installing new driver and now it seems is working like it should.
I read a post were it says that the update will change the SATA MODE to RST with OPTANE (it only happens on Optane models). So, you need to change it back or just reset the defaults. I tried both and only reseting the defaults.
Updating is up to you, updating firmware stuff always messes my laptop lol, too risky in my opinion.

Oh by the way, I saw in other post someone warming the community to not update the keyboard firmware since it will turn off your keyboard even when plugged, seems like it happens with that update too! Now I regret updating lol

Ok, this will be my last comment in your post lol, it turns off from the BIOS, you only need to switch it back and that should make it (On main menu, I think it's called).  For some reason my pc is now way faster. See ya! Hope someone finds any of my answers helpful

Okay... I had my laptop set on ACHI in order to dual boot Ubuntu and Windows 10. The new update changed it to RST with Optane, and for some reason, now I can't even access the SATA mode options on the boot menu using ctrl+I or ctrl+s.

    Does anyone have a solution?
