I just bought an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-43 that comes with 4 GB of 2666 MHz ram, and I also bought a Kingston Hyperx Impact 4GB 2400 MHz ram. Can I know whether it is compatible if I mixed both of it. Does it can damage my laptop?

Hi,Good Morning! kindly check the specs of your unit below.

As per as the specs you have 2 sockets, you can give it a try. Kindly handle the unit with care, so that there will be no damage.

Thank you! I almost got scammed into buying another ram stick at a store because they said if I use the one I have, it will cause damage to the laptop and they even said that it will blue screen. I tried and it worked but after I restarted the laptop after I'm done, it says that it is scanning and repairing my disk. Is it a bad thing? But, after a few restarts, it started without any problems.

Hi, Not a problem, since the computer is working fine now. Also if you do want, kindly try to do BIOS defaults on your unit by the below steps.
    RESET BIOS
    **********
1.Turn Off the unit. Press the power button to turn on the unit.Immediately start tapping the F2 key until you enter the BIOS screen.
2.In the BIOS, press F9 to reset the BIOS to setup defaults.
3.At the confirmation screen, press Enter for Yes to load the default configuration.
4.Press F10 to save your changes, and restart the system. Select Yes and press ENTER to confirm

@Muzar Actually that is not good. The fact that it did Disc scan repair is not a good thing after a RAM upgrade and is a red flag, it appears the store may be right. On further investigation the RAM you installed looks to be incompatible. You bought a CL14 rated stick, the correct rating is CL19. The memory controller can only run DIMMs at a single frequency and set of timings, which would be the slowest of the mix by default to improve your chances of a successful boot. However, each additional mismatched DIMM increases your chance of complications or no-boot.
Below is the link to Crucial who guarantee RAM comparability for your exact model

My advice is that before buying and installing RAM, use a reputable RAM manufactures compatibility guide such as the one above. I write down the part number and still buy it from Amazon
