I have an Aspire A515-43 that is less than 2 months old and the touchpad completely stopped working.  It worked when the computer was shut down one evening and the next morning it did not work when it was tuend back on.  I have looked all over the forums and all over the internet and tried the common solutions, but I have not found anything that works.  I have tried Fn+F7, installing both drivers listed for my model from the acer website, deleting old drivers, etc.  When I check BIOS settings, touchpad is not listed. Is that normal? Below are snips of my device manager and bios. Can anyone offer any possible solutions?  Thanks

HiTradeMarkEnable touchpad in settingsThe laptop toucpad not working issue sometimes happens only because you’ve disabled it unknowingly.
To turn the feature back on:
On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and R at the same time, then copy & paste main.cpl into the box and click OK.
Click the Device Settings tab > your device > Enable > Apply > OK.

Step 2) might differ slightly depending on the build of your Windows Operating System. The bottom line is: enable your touch pad.

Thanks, but as I stated in my original post and as you can see in the image of my BIOS settings that I included, "touchpad" does not appear in my BIOS settings. I'm sure that might be part of my problem, but I'm not sure how to correct it.

I'm having the same problem after the last windows update to 1039.  Have you figured it out ?

Press the F7 key without pressing FN. This key toggles the touchpad off and on.

The touchpad on my 2-month old ACER A315-54 decided to stop working. New driver, checking Bios had no effect. Neither did Fn+F7 but F7 alone did the trick. Very quick. Simple.

I was going crazy with touchpad and telling my kid that she probably damaged the touchpad as they love to break stuff but thank God it was only F7 Key. Didn’t see this on other laptops.

This is occurring with me and the same laptop model. Touch pad isn't in BIOS, nor is it recognized in the windows 10 system. It's not an option in device manager either. I installed the drivers (both touchpad drivers on the Acer site for my specific model) and still nothing at restart, not in BIOS. So what's the next step, because I'm exhausted from googling

which bios version? by pressing control S in bios, touch pad option will appear. you can use that to switch drivers.
alternatively just download touchpad drivers in acer website.

Tried your method and nothing appeared in bios. How do I find out my bios version anyway?

So I got my touchpad working, only because I switched from I2C to PS2 in BIOS. CTRL + S did work to bring out the touch pad, but I didn't have an advanced nor basic option. I have downloaded both drivers from the Acer website and nothing has happened, my windows 10 doesn't recognize either. I'm willing to switch to a linux system if i can get my touchpad to work on it honestly. I don't know what steps to take after this. I wish I could just go back in time and make sure my touch pad kept functioning. -_-*

BRUH. Thank you so much. Literally had no idea what was happening. After reinstalling and updating and restarting over and over and over. You just gave me the biggest sigh of relief.....and also made me do the biggest facepalm ever.
