Hello everyone

I've just opened my Acer Helios 300 2019 with 9750H and 1660 ti and I was immediately met with the 2.5 HDD upgrade Kit.

So I'm wondering after reading the warning whether I should open it and upgrade it myself or if I have to take to an acer workshop, provided that I've had this laptop shipped to me outside the US so there's no US Acer Service centers nearby.

It seems that it doesn't come with any warranty seals on the cover, so is it safe to upgrade it myself or how will Acer know that it's been opened otherwise?

You can do upgrade on your own and it will not void the warranty. But make sure while doing upgrade no other parts on the unit gets damaged.

Wolver1ne you can upgrade everything if you dont have any seals in any of the screws if you have you cant because the H300 2019 has to be completely disassembled to upgrade hdd/memory/ssd not like the older versions that you can upgrade the hdd and ram without having to disassemble it neither voiding the warranty only the ssd needs disassembling to upgrade on older 2017/18 variants also be careful use the proper tools for the job and dont damage any screws/parts :)

@xapim how would I know if there are seals in the screws before touching them?
i thought It was fine to open it, anyway I already installed the HDD and everything is working fine atm so it’d really suck if it turns out this does void the warranty :/

The bag that the drive upgrade kid comes in does not directly tell you weather or not the warranty will be voided if I open it up. It only states "Do not install HDD on your own or else warranty terms will be affected."
