windows update stopped working,tried to shutdown windows update services,but won’t stop. To delete software distribution files.any ideas how I can stop from running,also tried stopping in cmd wuaus stop serv also tried win update repair tool.

  • Have you tried the "windows update" service? Also, have you ever been in settings, update and security, troubleshooting, windows update?

    Yes, I tried all that.troubleshoot windows update tool in windows and downloaded update assistant.

    I suggest you to backup whatever you need and perform a stock recovery clean install this is the easy way to get it fixed if you prefer to take the hardest way you will have to troubleshoot it bi googling for your particular issue and try all suggestions but again you might find one that works or not you can also run sfc scannow /r /f if the sfc wont fix your issue i really suggest you to follow my first advice because something happened that broke some of the update files needed to run it (all this assuming you are trying to get windows update to work again)

    Was able to get a system restore point working from August before bad windows update jacked up my predator,seems to be working fine,giving me option to update to 1903 should I chance it after hearing all the problems on the ph 315-51 ?
