I wanted to access the intel graphics control panel to change some color settings, but I couldn't because it apparently required a newer DCH driver. First I tried uninstalling my current drivers and then restarting so I can install the newer one. I got a blue screen. I restarted several times and luckily it booted up fine again, but it seems like the old driver had immediately self-installed. So I got the Intel Download Assistant thing and let it do its scan, but then it tells me it can't update my drivers because my laptop is using a modified driver from the manufacturer, and that installing a generic driver may cause technical issues. What do I do?? I need to access the control panel, the color management settings on Windows isn't enough for what I need.

My current driver version: 24.20.100.6170
Model: Aspire E5-576

You may try installing the updated intel driver version (24.20.100.6286) listed at  Acer support site.
    Intel driver :  Download

You can also download and install the driver manually.
Unzip the file to a designated location or folder.  Open Device Manager, click Yes when prompted for permission from User Account Control.  Expand the display adapter section. Right-click and select Update Driver Software. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. Click Have Disk. Click Browse and select the directory where the driver files are located.
Click OK, and finally click Next. Drivers are now being installed. Restart your computer.

I installed the newer driver but I still cannot open the intel graphics control panel. The oldest version of the DCH drivers is 25.20.100.6444, which came out at the end of last November. The version you linked is from August 2018. Either Acer is way behind on rolling out updates, or there's some compatibility issue, which I hope is not the case.
