Is it possible to order a new soundcard?

My sound card isn't working, no sound at all for at least 8 months. I'm not from the states so the warranty is useless as i had the device shipped to me. Support for this laptop where i live is non-existent apart from some backarse websites. I honestly feel it shouldn't be a big job in ordering and installing your own replacement soundcard that matches the casing design to allow for usb port / headphone jack but i doubt any out there are even remotely compatible? Any chance this is possible?

thanks, i have no sound and the laptop feels .. half broken despite everything else working fine.

@eminem2ka9 You could using a usb headset - i use it more than i have my laptop on speakers. Plus these kinds of headsets come with their own sound card (bundled into the headset).

@eminem2ka9 first of all what is the complete model we are talking about here and you could follow @sri369 advice above or you could also buy a cheap usb soundcard the 7.1 are very cheap (https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=708043&initiative_id=AS_20190908031111&SearchText=7.1+usb+sound+card&switch_new_app=y) and attach external speakers to it or even try to get the internal speakers to work with it it might even work if youre lucky but can you describe what happened to your realtek sound card i had never heard about any issue as yourse wouldnt it be just drivers have you check them or even perform an acer stock recovery clean install to really be sure if the hardware is damaged or not ???

The soundcard chipset its built into the mobo pcb its not possible to replace as far as im aware you would have to replace the complete mobo its yours its really damaged but i would try what i suggested above to really make sure its a hardware issue and not just software its well worth trying a stock recovery but bare in mind to backup everything you need first because it will format the drive completely to the exact first day you booted it for the first time

Right now i'm using bluetooth headset, i however would like some sound from the laptop speakers themselves. The weren't the best speakers anyway but i still don't like that they aren't working anyway.

it's the g3-571 model. i've had these external usb soundcards but downside is they can break quiet easily especially if you have the laptop on your lap, overtime they'll bend. Even if they didn't bend i'd have to adjust them to get them working. Regarding the sound drivers If i'm being honest i feel like a complete formatting of my computer would do nothing, i've done x w and z with the sound and nothing. About 0.1% of sound is coming from the speakers on a good day if you listen very very clearly in a quiet room, the driver itself is fine and the computer has no issue recognizing the sound card and fluctuations in sound volume. I think i have a good idea of what hardware is causing the issue and can be easily disconnected from the MB, and replaced if possible the manufacturer can do that but i think they'd want you to send it in for repair. I've tried and it's like this country doesn't exist!

    Thanks for your responses.

Now this i think i may have missed from your earlier post. One attempt you could risk to do is to check your laptop speakers. I call it a risk here since I am do not know if that is even possible.
Unfortunately nearly all laptops have sound cards embedded into the motherboard making them irreplacable.

eminem2ka9 thats why they are very cheap :)

i wonder if your headphones jack its working fine that means theres nothing wrong with the audio chipset hardware and i would point to the speakers themselves as @sri369
mentioned above also as you said you wont have warranty anyway just open it and check you speakers you can also contact@Kev0806 by pm he would probably be able to get you some replacement speakers as he his an acer authorized parts partner or you can search on aliexpress (my best bet) for the part you need if its just the speakers its an easy fix worst case as i already stated it a mobo replacement find a donor mobo with the same specs and replace it (this ist not cheap at all) even used and properly tested/working they can go up to 500usd depending on the exact model

Anyway here are the part numbers for the speakers and mobo

Hope you can get it fixed with the speakers only :)
