Predator Triton 500 Ultra Thin and Light Hard Crash With Black Screen

Hi, this is my second time reaching out to this forum after the first time providing no help what so ever. My 5 month old computer the Predator Triton 500 Ultra Thin and Light with an RTX 2080 Max Q has been crashing to a black screen. This only happens while I am playing games, and I can still hear the game and my friends in the VC, but eventually it gets into a loop and just shuts itself down. While this happens, my computer still appears to be on, the keys are still lit and the fans are still running. I have already attempted to send this computer back, and the repair service said there was nothing defective with the laptop, so they just sent it back to me. The day after I got it back, it ***** crashed. This is not ok, its a brand new model, if anyone has ANY advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Everyone knows about black screen issue on triton so I wonder how come that acer repair service doesn’t

    Yeah, I agree it is strange. It kinda seems like they tried looking at the hardware but didn't actually look very much lol.

    Im just wondering have you already tried a stock recovery clean install just to rule out any software bugs im not familiar with tritons as they to me are another kind of breed to get the new rtx rolling out :) in a good way of course but i prefer the helios

    Hey OP just want to say you're not the only one. I have just submitted a case to get my triton 500 serviced and out of curiosity, did a google search and found your post. It worked great the first month but the frequent crashing makes me feel like I got a lemon. I should have gone with a Helios xD, I have the 2080 max q as well with 2x 512 gb in raid 0 config. It's fast and I love it, but it's frustrating trying to game on it. Is it the 144hz panel? Gsync? I don't know.. :( hopefully their service center will actually try something instead of just saying no issues found.

    The 2080 should definitely support Gsysnc
