Hi, I have an Acer nitro 5. I am new to this gaming laptop as well as nitrosense. I wanted to know if anyone has ever downloaded the Acer Assistant? If so is it helpful? I'm asking because my laptop did an update but I don't know what the update was for. Is there any way to know what updates your laptop is doing or what update you may need. I want to get the best performance out of my device as well as take care of it. I had to call support to get information on how and when to use the cool boost as well as being knowledgeable on temperatures for the cpu and gpu. Any adive or suggestions for a newbie?

thank you in advance

The upgrade assistant isn't really meant for your machine. Most Win10updates are automatic and automatically create a restore point which you can view. Open Control Panel. Search 'restore point ' . Click 'create a restore point ' in the left pane. Click 'system restore' button. Click 'next'. The restore points and their dates should be listed.  So if an update messes up your system, it can be reversed. Generally speaking, if CPU/GPU temperatures remain below about 90*C under heavy loads, nothing needs to be done. Jack E/NJ

Hi, Acer Upgrade Assistant Tool is a program developed by Acer. The most used version is 1.00.3004, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon installation and setup, it defines an auto-start registry entry which makes this program run on each Windows boot for all user logins. The software installer includes 21 files and is usually about 28.34 MB.
Nitro products are engineered to withstand higher operating temperatures than traditional notebooks. These systems include features that help with cooling and heat dispersion. The CPU and GPU are designed to handle temperature spikes in excess of 98 degrees Celsius without causing damage to the components.

@ Thank you martinjohn00001,and JackE for reaponding. I was a bit worried at how high the temp gets even just browsing web. Do any of you guess have additional accessories to keep pc cool and safe during gaming? Like a fan or some kind of stand the pc can sit on? I downloaded Acer care system last night and i also figured out how to check to see the updates. Thank you for tips and suggestions.

    Best to you all

Additional accessories are not needed nor recommended if the following temperatures are not exceeded under heavy gaming loads. These higher temperatures are normal for the Nitro series. Jack E/NJ
