G3-710 CPU fan turning itself off

Hey,

I've had this weird issue for about 2 weeks now: my CPU fan turns itself off for a couple of minutes every now and then, approximately every 30 minutes. This results in the CPU slowly heating up, and when the fan finally decides to turn back on, it does so at max RPM since the CPU does get quite warm even if I'm not using the PC for anything special. The CPU then cools off and the fan works normally for a random amount of time at low RPM, until it decides to turn itself off again. The real issue here is when I'm actually using the PC for gaming - today I noticed that the fan wasn't on when I was gaming and the CPU temperature was sitting at 100 degrees for quite a long time, before the fan decided to turn itself on again.

This issue occurs with both BIOS controlled as well as software controlled (Argus Monitor which I installed to troubleshoot the issue) fan profile. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of to fix this but nothing seems to work - is it likely that the fan is completely busted? Or could something else be causing it?

Few images from the monitoring tool I'm using

PC Specs in short:

Acer Predator G3-710, BIOS version R02-B2

Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Intel i7-7700 @ 3.60GHz

GeForce GTX 1080 32 GB Ram

Thanks a lot in advance!

Not normal. Open ControlPanel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point'. Click 'system restore' button. Click 'next'. Do you see an automatic restore point with a date stamp about 2 weeks ago? Jack E/Nj
