Hi there!

I am having an Acer Aspire V3-772G (Serial Number - *****) with a TN panel and screen resolution of 1600x900 and i would like to upgrade to an IPS panel, the resolution of 1600x900 doesn't  bother me at all. however the TN panel is not suitable for my work, as i am a photographer. The reason i would like to swap the panels is that the power this laptop has is enough for me, but the color accuracy and the vertical angles of view are terrible. Did anyone upgrade and if any recommendations.

Laptop specs:

CPU: i7 - 4702 MQ
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 750M
Screen: TN panel  - N173FGE-E23  - http://www.panelook.com/modeldetail.php?id=20842

As i mentioned earlier, i really like the size and the hardware as it is enough for my works, and there is no really need to purchase a new laptop just if it would be possible to upgrade to IPS panel.
Browsing through web i have noticed that the same laptop comes with many variants and specs with FHD displays, however are they IPS or TN there is little to none info.

I have email the Acer support team, but there was no reply from them and i doubt that i will get any.
Thanks in advance for your support.

    Hi,
I have found two compatible panels but both of them are FHD(1920x1080), I couldn't find any IPS panels with 1600x900 resolutions, all of them are TN panels, anyway, I have compared the panels for compatibility, check the connector position is same as your panel in the back( 99% I'm sure it is but it's better to check)

brummyfan2 Thank you so much for your reply, i actually forgot to take a picture of the whole TN panel when i have opened it to check the model number, but if my memory doesn't fail, it looked exactly like the ones you have shared.

I was also reading about the eDP 1 lane connectors which mine has one, any clue which cable will match, to handle the FHD as the ones in the link are a eDP 2 lane

    Hi,
You can use the existing cable as it's compatible with 1 lane and 2 lane panels, no need to look for a new cable.

    Thank you!
I need to check which of these 2 are better in terms of color accuracy and order one, once i have it installed i will update, maybe others will be interrested too.

    Much appreciated for support brummyfan2
