iconia 500 storage discrepancy

Hello, I am having trouble with being able to save anything on my tablet now.

 

1. First of all, the storage capacity on the tablet says that I only have 400MB left of storage, but when I check in the Settings menu, the amount of storage being used up by everything is about 11GB of my 16GB. Where is the other 4-5 GB going to? I can send screen shots if you want.

 

2. Even though I only have 400MB, I should be able to load small attachments and updates to applications, but now I cannot. Why is this?

 

I checked on an Android forum and they suggested I just reboot the computer to reset the storage, but that did not help. Please let me know other suggestions, Thank you.

Ok, I had a chance to search through a couple of threads and it looks like others are having a similar issue. However, the patch discussed seemed to discuss a GPS leak, but I'm not sure that is my problem, because I don't have a GPS on my tablet, or at least I don't think I do. I only have Google Maps. Can you please tell me (1) how I can find out if I have an active GPS feature on my tablet? and (2) if the patch in the Iconia A500 tablet Drivers downloads section will work for my problem? Feel free to ask any questions if you need clarification to help me solve my problem. Thanks.
