Dear Friends from Acer Community,
First of all, to avoid any kind of misleading information, my main goal here is to reach someone who owns or have or had access to one of newer models of the notebook Acer Swift 1 to test its video out capabilities.
As far as I know, the laptop Acer Swift 1 (model SF114-32) is offered with a variety of different CPU/GPU(integrated graphics).
The older versions were built with Intel processors N3060, N3710 etc. Those versions were NOT capable to output 4K@60Hz video.
But, theoretically, the NEW versions of this notebook (with de N4000, N4100 and N5000 processors) can output video with 4K@60Hz (3840x2160 pixels) resolution.
What I don't know is if the hardware ports (HDMI and USB-C) on the new version of this laptop can handle that 4k@60Hz video signal.
On one side, it may depend of the version of the HDMI port hardware. If it is version 1.4, it would probably be a no go. But if it is version 2.0, it should work.
On the other side, this notebook also has an USB-C port, but I am not sure if it supports video output. And, even if it does, can it output video at 4K@60Hz?
Even if there is no hardware obstacles, maybe this limitation was imposed somehow by Acer that may have manufactured it using some kind of restricting software or firmware. And that is what I want to discover.
So, can anybody confirm that the newer models can handle the mentioned resolution (4K@60Hz), be it over HDMI or over USB-C?
Thanks in advance.
