I want to get a laptop for cross school and resource intensive work (gaming, video editing, etc). I set my eyes on the helios 300 1660 ti model since it is a good balance on all aspects and i might use that performance. I might use a battery pack, so i wont care too much about battery (will charge when off b/c of lower wattage) However, i want to know how this laptop reacts to falls (rarely, might be around 3 feet/1 meter or less), hits (people who dont respect tech, bumps from backpack, etc), and other impact style events. I may get a protected hdd or a ssd. How does this laptop cope with those events? (I will be carrying it in a zip up bag in my back pack)

TrooperZ any gaming laptop (or any regular laptop) were not made to any kind of fall or bump the reactions are never good it can still be working as it might not regarding the battery you should worry because you need the battery to be always on 100% and connected to the AC when you decide to play any game if cant meet these requirements you will loose all performance gaming laptops battery's main purpose its to aid the adapter when this one cannot provide enough power to support the cpu/gpu on high performance i do not recommend you to play on battery you will end up by damage it in the long term only light work when on battery and only if you dont have a socket near because if you have leave it plugged in.

PS you havent bought it yet but if you are planning to get it dropped or bumping with it i really dont advise you to spend money on a gaming laptop just get a normal one first of all because warranty will not cover self user damage any bumps/cracks/drops arent covered by any manufacturer warranty so you will have to loose all the money you spend on it and fix it yourself by paying even more anyway this its just an advice any laptop whatsoever has to be dealt with care if you are planning to bump/drop i suggest you to get a military grade laptop instead with reinforced carbon shell chassis
